女儿是永远的

这是我第一首也是最后一首英文诗，

为了能让你有些可以永远记住我的东西，

我把它写在有我照片的书的空白处。

就是爸爸不在了，这本书一定还在。

将来某一天，爸爸已去，

你突然想起了那个老要抱抱的人，

这本书会给你google他需要的信息，

在你按下键盘时刻，你会抚慰一个逝去的灵魂。

有人告诉我，儿子淘气，女儿可爱，

你证明了这个说法绝对不靠谱，

你是顽皮和可爱的完美结合。

别人拒绝给你买冰激凌时，你却在咯咯地笑，

你很清楚，爸爸一定会很快把它带给你。

老去无可选择，成长却不是。

年轻的我敬仰聪明的人，

现在的我意识到善良比什么都重要。

祝你永远有一颗同情的心，

不要丢掉它，我的小天使。

老百姓把它叫做“好心”。

如果长大就必须放弃它，那就不要长大，

永远保留你的童心。

今早我在镜子里看到了我的父亲，

一切是那么惊人的一致，

悲伤顿时淹没了我，

原来把我和死亡隔离的墙已经塌了15年。

就在那一刻，你的版本的“爸爸老了”的歌在心中响起，

微笑顷刻间替代了欲滴的泪。

那位智者讲的真好，

“对一位变老的父亲来说，没有比闺女更亲的了”。

在这个世界上，没有什么是永垂不朽的，

有一个例外，

女儿是永远的，

女儿永远驾驭着父亲。

很遗憾，我牵你手的时间太短，太短，

但我会永远抓住你的心，不放手。

我是一个国王，不是因为我有自己的国度，

是因为我有一位公主的女儿。

A Daughter Forever

This is my first English poem and the last,

I want you to have something from me forever.

I wrote it on a book with my picture on the side cover.

This book will outlast your old man.

In distance future, Dad is gone.

In case, you start to wonder the guy who always want a hug,

the book could be a hint for you to google,

your touch of a keyboard will touch the lost soul.

I was told that sons are naughty, daughters are cute,

You proved the claim is bogus,

You are the epitome of both naughtiness and loveliness.

You giggle when you are denied an ice-cream by others.

You know daddy will get you some later.

Aging is a compulsion, growing up is not.

When I was young I admire wisdom,

Now I am approaching the end，

I found out kindness is much more invaluable.

Let empathy be part of you,

Never lose it, my angel,

ordinary people calls it a good heart.

If growing up means having to give it up, then don’t grow up.

I was looking at a mirror the other morning,

I saw my father; the similarity is striking.

Sadness overwhelms me,

the wall separating me from the death has been gone for 15 years.

Then, “daddy is getting old” start to play in my mind.

It is your version, the one you used to hum, 

smile replaced hidden tears instantly

A wise man is so right,

“To a father growing old, nothing is dearer than a daughter.”

In this uncertain world, it appears nothing is forever.

There is one exception,

daughters are forever,

your rule is going to last forever.

Even I hold your hand only for a short while,

but I hold your heart forever.

I am a king not because I have a kingdom, 

but because my daughter is a princess.
